Puppy Foundations Programme
Give your puppy the very best start in life with our Puppy Foundations Programme, designed exclusively for puppies under 6 months of age. This programme is essential for laying a solid foundation before progressing to our Calm and Control Programme or Reactivity Reset Programme as your puppy grows.
The first few months are critical in shaping your puppy’s confidence, behaviour, and relationship with you. Our personalised training programme provides dedicated one-to-one private support, ensuring you and your puppy receive expert guidance tailored to your lifestyle, goals, and your puppy’s unique personality.
Every puppy is different, and our private sessions allow us to progress at the right pace for your puppy, address early challenges, and give you the skills to continue training into adolescence.
During this programme, we cover crate training, toilet training, handling, correct socialisation & exposure, building a relationship through food and play, luring & free shaping, and basic obedience.

Calm and Control Programme
An obedience-based training programme for real-world reliability, our Calm & Control Programme is designed to help you build a dog who is a pleasure to live with and handle in everyday life. If your dog struggles with pulling on the lead, poor recall, over-excitement, lack of focus, or general nuisance behaviour, this programme offers the guidance you need.
The Calm & Control Programme goes beyond basic obedience. It focuses on creating clarity, consistency, and emotional balance so your dog can respond reliably at home, on walks, and around distractions. We also lay strong foundations in engagement, lead skills, impulse control, recall, and calm behaviour, progressively proofing those skills in real-world environments. Additionally, our Puppy Foundations Programme can complement this training for younger dogs, while the Reactivity Reset Programme is perfect for those dealing with more specific behavioural issues.
Through a combination of private coaching, group work, practical exercises, and ongoing support, you’ll gain the knowledge and structure to train confidently, understand your dog’s needs, and maintain progress long-term.

Reactivity Reset Programme
An in-depth Behaviour Modification Programme designed specifically for Reactive Dogs.
If your dog lunges, barks, growls, or loses control around other dogs, people, traffic, or the environment, everyday life can feel stressful, embarrassing, and isolating. The Reactivity Reset Programme is a structured, supportive programme designed to change not just your dog’s behaviour, but also how they feel and cope in the real world.
This is not a quick fix or a one-size-fits-all approach. It’s a personalised behaviour modification process that focuses on emotional regulation, calm decision-making, and reliable responses under distraction. We make real changes to your dog by building the skills and confidence they need to make better choices through in-depth private coaching, real-world training setups, controlled social exposure, and continuous support between sessions. You’ll learn how to read your dog, manage situations safely, and create lasting change rather than temporary suppression.
The goal is simple: calmer walks, safer interactions, and a dog who can cope with their world instead of reacting to it. This aligns perfectly with our Calm and Control Programme, ensuring your dog learns to navigate their environment with confidence.

Residential Training
Our residential training is the perfect service for the ultimate intensive training programme in a neutral setting to enable your dog to undo bad habits or behavioural issues and focus on new behaviours. With our Calm and Control Programme, we ensure that your dog receives the attention they need to thrive.
Your dog will stay within our home for the duration of their training, with multiple training sessions daily and plenty of time to decompress. Whether you're looking to address reactivity with our Reactivity Reset Programme, improve lead walking, establish boundaries within the home, or simply initiate a general behaviour reset, we can help you. We will design a tailor-made training programme for your dog, which may include our Puppy Foundations Programme, along with a full handover and written plan at the end of their stay, as well as one follow-up private lesson.
A minimum of 3 weeks is required for all residential training to allow adequate time to build a relationship, establish foundations, and achieve the best possible results.
If your dog has not had prior training with us, a 121 assessment will be required.
E Collar Training Programme
Do you struggle with your dog's recall? Does your dog have a high prey drive? No amount of treats will entice them back to you? Then E Collar training may be for you.
E Collar training is designed to allow your dog safe, reliable off lead freedom around any and all distractions, and it complements our Calm and Control Programme. The stimulation of the E Collar is slowly and carefully paired with positive reinforcement to reinforce behaviours, which can also enhance the skills learned in our Puppy Foundations Programme.

Please note that if your dog has not had prior training with Akila K9 Training, a 121 assessment session will be required to determine suitability. Not all dogs are suitable for E Collar training, and further training sessions such as those in our Reactivity Reset Programme may be required prior to E Collar training. Additional sessions may be required upon completion of the package, which will be charged at the usual 121 rate.
Please note that the E Collar is not included in the programme price and will need to be purchased separately. Please seek advice before purchasing as only specific brands will be accepted.
Day Training
This is NOT a doggy day care, but a structured day of training designed for existing clients to complement your training plan, such as the Calm and Control Programme or the Puppy Foundations Programme. Your dog will spend a whole day with a dedicated trainer, focusing on specific goals, issues, or general obedience, including recall, reactivity, socialisation, neutrality, engagement, and lead walking, as part of our Reactivity Reset Programme.
An 8-hour day of training, tailored to your dog's needs, includes regular updates throughout the day and a full handover at the end to assist you in continuing the training.
